If Barbie fronted a riot grrrl band and had a taste for Sims and subversion, she’d probably look a lot like Delilah Bon. A one-woman powerhouse of punk-rap chaos and hyper-feminine rage, she’s known for turning heads, speaking up, and painting the town (and her bedroom) pink.
We caught up with her backstage at Slam Dunk 2025 to talk life on tour, maximalist home vibes, and making artwork out of wigs and lady bushes. As you’d expect, it was far from ordinary...
How would you describe the style of your home? More Rock n Roll or something more unexpected?
It’s very maximalist right now, it’s bright pink! Everything’s pink! I want everything PINK! I did a pink ceiling, dark green walls and my bed is bright pink. I cover everything in artwork, art prints. I like gold, pink, PINK PINK PINK! It’s not very rock and roll, come to think of it - I think it is!
When you’re on tour, how do you make your tour bus or hotel room feel like home? Do you take anything special with you?
I don’t, I don’t have anything! I do however take something pink of course, my suitcase is pink. Pink things make anything feel like home
What’s one piece of advice you would give to aspiring musicians about balancing life on the road and at home?
I feel like it’s all about energy. I think people who haven’t toured before don’t actually realise how much lack of sleep you get. You know, when you get to the hotel - you can’t sleep! You get into bed and think, I can’t actually unwind. SO my advice is actually try and sleep in the van as much as you can, don’t talk all the time. I feel like sometimes people think that they’ve gotta fill the gap with talking and chatting, but I try and keep my energy for the stage, and in the morning I actually snooze a little bit!
What’s the first thing you do when you get back home after a tour?
Usually play Sims, I play Sims a LOT!
What’s the weirdest thing in your home that you absolutely love?
I have some weird paintings. I do a lot of bushes, but women, lady bushes! I make them out of wigs, and use long bright pink hair on some of them!
