Between chaotic tour energy and slightly concerning pillow attachments, Lake Malice's Blake and Alice give us a glimpse into their shared home, their DIY tour comforts, and the unspoken healing power of binge-watching TV while lying horizontally.
We caught up with them at Slam Dunk 2025 to talk about fairy lights, personal rituals, and the weirdest item in their house - which, spoiler alert, is a mannequin in a suit with a moustache.
🛋️ What’s the weirdest thing in your home that you absolutely love?
Blake:
So for context, me and Alice live in the same house.
Alice:
I think maybe the mannequin?
Blake:
Yeah - for our last video, we needed a mannequin for a scene where Alice is dancing with this fictional husband-type character. It’s just a mannequin in a suit… but now he lives with us.
Alice:
It’s a classic mannequin too - massive moustache, drawn-on facial features. So weird.
Blake:
The arms are scattered all over the place.
Alice:
Whenever we have dog sitters over, they just stare at it. We’re always like: “Don’t ask. Long story.”
🧠 How do you look after your mental health while away from home?
Alice:
ASMR videos - I love ASMR so much. Give me all the weird stuff… well, not too weird.
Blake:
Being on tour is chaotic in a good way - you’re surrounded by friends and don’t have time to spiral. But there are still days where it hits you, so listening to your body is important.
Sometimes you need to be alone, sometimes you’ve gotta force yourself to go out - even if it’s the last thing you want. That’s the thing that can really help. Also: exercise.
Or better yet, just come to a Malice show - we’ll sort you out.
🛏️ Do you take anything with you to make hotel rooms or the tour bus feel like home?
Alice:
Fairy lights! 100%. And I’ve got this USB colour-changing lamp - makes anywhere feel cosy. I’m all about lighting. I love lamps.
Blake:
I LOVE LAMP.
Alice:
No, seriously - I keep buying them whenever I see them. I’ve got a problem.
Blake:
She's a lamp addict. For me? Noise cancelling headphones and my Nintendo Switch are big ones. But my real comfort is my own pillow.
Alice:
THE PILLOW! That thing’s seen things.
Blake:
I’ve always needed it. Once someone at a Travelodge laughed at me for bringing it. I was like, “Yeah, I do actually.” No regrets.
🎬 What’s the first thing you do when you get home after tour?
Alice:
Lay horizontally.
Blake:
Stare into the void for two weeks minimum.
Alice:
Catch up on all the TV and films we’ve missed. The weekly episode shows are the best - coming home to a full stack of them is heaven.
Blake:
I also love sitting at a desk. That probably sounds mental. But after weeks of chaos, having a calm space to sit and work with no movement or noise is such a relief.
